Cloverdale
With a compact downtown filled with rambling Victorians, a burgeoning arts community, highly regarded Zinfandel wines and a family-friendly atmosphere, it’s no wonder Cloverdale was recently named one of “America’s Coolest Small Towns.” It's a perfect base for exploring Sonoma County’s famous wineries and stunning natural beauty.
Stroll along Main Street, which features a variety of intriguing stores, galleries, restaurants and tasting rooms. Explore the Cloverdale Historical Society, with displays of old farm equipment and other items from days gone by, and catch musical and theatrical performances at the Cloverdale Performing Arts Center.
Enjoy the outdoors. Launch a kayak or canoe in Cloverdale River Park and paddle off on an adventure. Or simply enjoy a picnic on one of the park’s tables. Walk along the Clover Springs Open Space Trail. Or enjoy the 7.4-acre City Park in the heart of Cloverdale, which offers a children’s playground as well as baseball, basketball and volleyball courts, and a horseshoe pit.
Every Friday in the summer, the cobblestoned town plaza hosts the Seasonal Farmers Market as well as Friday Night Live events sponsored by the Cloverdale Arts Alliance. Other annual local events include the Cloverdale Citrus Parade and Festival, the Cloverdale Car & Motorcycle Show, the Cloverdale Old Time Fiddle Festival, and the annual sculpture exhibit hosted by the Cloverdale Arts Alliance and, for cycling fans, the Asti Tour de Vine.
